Quality Engineer
SUMMARY
Tarter Farm and Ranch is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team in Dunnville, Kentucky. The Quality Engineer reports to the QA manager and is responsible for supporting the overall quality program, maintenance and application. Ensures continuous quality and performance of production while ensuring the integrity of quality control, consistent with established standards, customer specifications, and production goals. The Quality Engineer supports the QA and engineering team.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support QA manager to ensure products are inspected and any quality issues are addressed in a timely and thorough manner Utilize continuous improvement philosophy to improve quality and efficiency of processes Develop and implement corrective and preventative action activities as necessary. Monitor customer warranty claims for corrective and preventative action activities. Attend or conduct QC meetings as necessary with management to cover internal/external quality issues. Coordinate APQP activities Coordinate PFMEA and Control plan development with engineering and QA department Create/verify work instructions are in place for manufacturing products and ensure they are being followed. Actively involved with NPI team (New Product Initiative). Communicate with Tarter engineering group to ensure proper manufacturing of product. Coordinate MSA activities (Gage R & R’s, Cpk studies etc.) as necessary. Support 5S processes throughout the plant
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Test equipment to verify changes Perform root cause analysis activities in response to customer and internal quality concerns
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in a manufacturing, engineering or business-related field preferred 5+ 2+ year’s progressive experience in an engineering role at a manufacturing facility Quality Engineering experience in an ISO environment Microsoft Office experience Able to read and interpret prints to ensure product meets written specifications Product measurement experience using calipers, mics, protractors, height gages, tape measure etc.
WORKING CONDITIONS Working conditions are office environment and on the manufacturing floor. Minimal travel is required.
