About the Job
We are looking for a hands-on, laser-focused Quality Assurance Engineer with a wide degree of creativity and latitude who will lead and be responsible for the analysis of product, process, equipment and method issues at designated stages of product development and manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation.
- Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of the assigned product or component.
- Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
- Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
- Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
- Reviews all purchased products or components and provides input to the decision to accept the product and future purchases from the vendor.
- Documents data obtained during all quality activities consistent with company policies and procedures.
- Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.S) from four-year college or university in a related field and 10 - 15 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a general knowledge of Microsoft Office and Quality Software.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen
- Ability to travel (domestically/internationally) approximately 5%
Nice to Have:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Pivot Tables, coding
- Lead Auditor Certification for ISO9001/AS9100
- Experience with CMM machines, Keyence Machine, Optical Comparator
