Overview
Our company is seeking a Sheet Metal Fabrication Quality Engineer who is intelligent, energetic, and resourceful. The right candidate must be hands-on, a collaborative team player, who has a positive attitude, and can adapt to handling challenging situations. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Bachelor's degree required. One or more years of quality engineering experience in metal fabrication manufacturing. Fixture/gauge design experience. Must have sheet metal fabrication equipment experience - presses, stampings, etc. ISO 9001, SPC, Capability Studies, and Six Sigma. Knowledge of basic engineering principles to develop methods and procedures to improve and maintain quality standards.
Job Responsibilities:
-Majority of the work day spent on the manufacturing floor solving quality issues, while working on a major projects.
-Total responsibility for quality control, including parts, crating and finished product.
-Refines plant processes, implements new product processes, performs quality audits and solves production related issues between departments and R&D.
-Responsible for metal scrap reduction, monitors raw material quality and make vendor recommendations as required.
-Assists in development and testing of new products.
-Troubleshoots field service situations and implements procedures to eliminate future problems.
- Investigates product quality problems, determines root cause for quality problems, gathers/analyzes data and implements corrective action to reduce or eliminate non-value waste resulting from non-conformances, scrap or reclaim.
- Uses quality tool and practice to establish approval criteria to ensure the identification of quality failure concerns for both internal and external manufactured parts and assemblies.
- Investigates unit quality related issues and concerns related to product and processes, gathers/analyzes data, resolves/facilitates resolution and implements corrective action.
- Provides support to manufacturing for product assembly.
- Investigates product and process quality related issues and recommend changes.
- Collaborates with more experienced engineers in preparing quality analyses and recommending necessary quality procedure changes.
