Essential Functions:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for inspecting and testing products and manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with design standards, while supporting engineering projects and representing Quality Assurance. This role involves designing and implementing process control and improvement methods, promoting quality standards, and assisting with regulatory compliance and process certification. The engineer develops and analyzes quality reporting measures, participates in audits, and addresses quality issues with suppliers and customers to implement corrective actions. Additionally, the role includes training development, maintaining measurement equipment, and ensuring a tidy work environment, with flexibility to assist in various tasks as needed.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in one of these fields preferred.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in quality or manufacturing
- Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques and documentation
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong computer skills including QA applications, word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of combustion engine theory.
- Knowledge of mathematics (trigonometry) regarding blueprints and technical specifications.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints in regard to (ANSI Y14.5) GD&T codes.
- Ability to run and program a Zeiss CMM (Calypso), as well as extensive use of measurement gauging and tools.
- Metrology knowledge.
Background checks and drug screening are required for this position due to the nature of customer requirements and safety.
