Summary:
-
Responsible for performing inspections, facilitation of Non-Conformance actions, tracking build quality and acting as Quality Representative at a Supplier Site.
-
This position functions out of the Quality Leadership department coordinating with Engineering, Quality and all Build manufacturing functions at the designated supplier. Typical job duties are listed below:
-
Inspection: Conduct inspection of various components including composites, systems, metals, assemblies, and tooling.

Oversight/Witness: Oversee and witness critical processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.

NCR Facilitation: Facilitate the resolution of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) between Supplier and Client
-
Major Assembly Delivery: Partner with the supplier to ensure that all assemblies and documentation are in order to support timely and complete delivery on schedule
Required Skills:
-
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field in Manufacturing, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering. ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and Auditor certifications are also preferred.

Inspection, FAI, and GD&T is required.

Proven hands-on experience in an airframe fabrication, assembly, and integration environment.

In depth understanding of testing, inspection, quality issues and certi?cation of aircraft, including all systems and particularly those associated with composite aero structures.

Knowledge of ISO 9001:2000, AS9100, FAA regulations and industry standards. Advanced problem solving, including analyzing, investigating, and following up.

Knowledge of business systems including ERP, Microsoft O?ce and CATIA V5.

Being innovative in tactical matters, breaking down barriers, proposing alternate solutions for process improvement.

Attention to detail and follow through.

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Must have knowledge of computers and software: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook

Ability to prioritize competing issues and coordinate resolutions with associated departments.
-
Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills. Self-motivated and can work independently while keeping a team perspective.

Comfort in virtual meetings / collaboration spaces as well as a Factory floor.
Desired Skills:
-
Proficiency in CMM, inspection, data analysis, CAD/CATIA, supplier interface, independent action, project management, and ERP systems. Among these, inspection, data analysis, aerospace experience, supplier interface, independent action, and ERP are required skills.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in Inspection, metrology, NDT/NDI, FAI, and GD&T is preferred. Leadership experience is also preferred.

Strong analytical skills with a focus on critical thinking and business process management.

Ability to apply risk-based reasoning and judgement within a multifaceted regulatory environment of experimental, standard, and space regulations.
