Position Summary:
The Quality Coach/Trainer is primarily utilized as a coach for all new employees. This position will assist with the completion of shift production audits and cover for QC when necessary due to absence, and/or vacations.
The Quality Coach/Trainer will help maintain standard housekeeping in accordance with the Third-Party Auditors regulations. Assist with the operation of other downstream equipment under the direction of the Production Supervisor and/or an assigned person.
The Quality Coach/Trainer will also assist with the packing of finished goods (per the Bottle Packer job description) under the direction of the Production Supervisor and/or an assigned person.
Education, Training Experience:
The Quality Coach/Trainer must possess at minimum a high school diploma or an equivalent (GED). Must possess a demonstrated ability to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions in the English language. This person must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
Required Qualifications:
- Quality Coach / Trainer will be assigned to a main shift; however, they must be available to work all shifts for training.
- Knowledge and/or willingness to learn the in-house inventory systems and general computer (PC) for all types of data entry, reports and internal communications
- Must complete basic QC training program, with follow up and ongoing training programs.
- Requires constant visual attention; ability to discern flaws in containers.
- Must be able to pack at a high rate of speed (fastest machine) and instruct others in the packing of quality product in a timely manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
Coach/Trainer:
- Will assist with the completion of the Parker Plastics training checklists for all new hires/trainees.
- Will assist in the coaching of the Bottle Packers when needed, on good company/packaging practices.
- Ensure a high degree of cleanliness in the production area in accordance with Third-Party Auditing policies and procedures.
- Assists with reviewing shift quality documentation when needed.
- Housekeeping requirements in accordance with all Third-Party policies and procedures.
- Ensure a high-quality package, by visually inspecting bottles, cartons and units for defects, in accordance with plant quality improvement procedures.
- Package bottles according to customer’s specifications.
- Ensure that glue or tape is applied properly to the cartons.
- Remove contaminates from bottles before grinding.
- Relieving line workers as requested.
- Help with any other task that will assist the shift to maintain the productivity and quality of our product.
Quality Assurance
- Complete daily production audits as outlined in the QC procedures/guidelines.
- Help audit warehouse operations to ensure proper stacking and packing procedures to meet customer specifications.
- Help assure GMP, AIB and/or SQF regulations are followed during shift.
- Performs quality checks (visual or dimensionally) of product to assure container’s meet or exceed customer requirements.
- During quality checks, complete shift quality inspection reports.
- Helps to maintain quality specifications information regarding bottle drawings, pack patterns, packaging requirements, etc.
- Fill in when and as needed during vacation or absenteeism of other QA’s, Bottle Packers, and/or other qualified positions.
- Complete product rework, pertaining to their shift and/or assigned tasks.
- Relieving line workers as requested.
- Help with any other task that will assist the shift to maintain the productivity and quality of our product.
Visual Acuity and Field of Vision Requirements:
- Must be capable of seeing small defects in bottles at a distance close to the eyes.
Physical Requirements:MEDIUM WORK
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Must be able to lift 30 – 35 pounds above head frequently. Must be able to lift 35 – 40 pounds above head occasionally.
Environmental Working Conditions
- The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes, i.e. excessive heat above 100 degrees for a period of one (1) or more hours, excessive cold.
- The worker is subject to noise.
- The worker is subject to vibrations. Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
- The worker is subject to being exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, chemicals, etc.
- The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation).
- The worker is subject to oils. Air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
