- Youngstown, OH
- $23-$27/hour based on experience
- 1st shift 6am-4pm, Monday – Friday, and some half days on Saturday as needed
- Direct Hire opportunity
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist in the review and development of inspection and test plans at project kickoff to understand internal and customer quality specifications.
- Perform in process and final inspection of fabricated and welded products to confirm correctness of supply and defect free product.
- Monitor in process quality of manufacturing, which may include; dimensional and geometric inspection of fabrications, perform weld quality inspection (vt/mt/pt), interface with 3rd party NDE (ut/rt) inspection activity, inspection of machining features using precision measurement tools, shot blast and painting inspection, final detailing, packaging, and pre-shipment inspection.
- Generate and complete internal inspection reports and review completed inspection reports for accuracy and consistency.
- Support maintenance and calibration of measurement tools.
- Perform internal process audits to confirm the sustainability of established process control and inspection.
- Assist with non-conformance process through Client initiation, dispositioning, and completion and support activity related to root cause analysis and corrective action.
- Growth of the quality system through development, writing, training, and implementation of process documentation.
Skills/Qualifications
- 5 or more years' experience in quality control
- Documented training and practical application experience certification in:
- ANST NDT Level II Visual Inspection (VT)
- ANST NDT Level II Liquid Penetrant (PT)
- ANST NDT Level II Magnetic Particle (MT)
- Ability to perform NDT inspections
- Extensive experience reading and interpreting fabrication blueprints and identifying dimensions, welding symbols, and NDT symbols.
- Ability to gauge weld fit-ups and weld sizes using symbol gauges.
- Experience with documenting and logging inspection reports.
- Understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles
- Must be able to take and pass a vision acuity test.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Will be subject to pre-employment drug and background screening.
