About the Job
Summary: Ensures that company meets or exceeds quality control programs designed to result in continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Handle U.S.D.A. and S.S.O.P documentation.
- Assist with operations and production.
- Conducts tests of seasoning, batter and breading and marinade solutions.
- Pulls product of the lines randomly to measure weight, length and thickness to ensure
product is being produced according to customer specification.
- Responsible for hourly pickups.
- Responsible for hourly metal detection checks.
- Responsible for tracking box weight checks.
- Responsible for organoleptic testing. (cooking product)
- Participates in weekly QA staff meetings to discuss industry developments, customer
issues, QA issues, etc.
- Working knowledge of applicable customer specifications.
- Maintains confidentiality with all company confidential information.
- Performs pre-operational inspections of production lines assigned.
- Monitors and enforces GMP practices of employees throughout the plant.
- Assists with the training of backup QC Technicians.
- Prints labels on an as-needed basis.
- Serves as backup for other QA Technicians.
- Performs other duties as required.

This position has no supervisory experience.

Education and/or Experience
Experience in the food industry is preferred.

Other Skills and Abilities
Must be able to work well with others, have good organization skills and be able to complete tasks in a timely manner. Must be able to read, write and speak English at a level necessary to communicate with supervisors, inspectors and other personnel.
Computer Skills
Other Qualifications
Working knowledge of basic math skills and ability to use a calculator to determine percentages and averages. Must adhere to all quality and safety guidelines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is regularly exposed to moving vehicles (i.e. forklifts.) The employee is exposed to extreme cold temperatures in the plant and freezer. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
