Job Title: Quality Coordinator – Medical Laboratories

Location: Charlottesville, VA

Shift: Day Shift

Salary Range: $67,000 - $108,000

Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Coordinator to support the quality, safety, and regulatory compliance of our Medical Laboratories on a day shift schedule. This position will play a crucial role in coordinating the actions of departments and individuals to ensure that accreditation and regulatory requirements are met. The Quality Coordinator will also oversee data management and documentation processes to support continuous improvement and compliance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accreditation and Regulatory Compliance: Coordinate actions across departments to meet medical laboratory accreditation and regulatory requirements, ensuring continuous compliance.
• Process Improvement: Organize and manage data to assist teams in completing process improvement projects, utilizing analytical skills to drive efficiency and quality.
• Quality Management Plan: Direct and maintain the Medical Laboratory Quality Management Plan to promote consistent, high-quality outcomes in all laboratory processes.
• Safety Management Program: Oversee the Medical Laboratory Safety Management Program, ensuring a safe environment for all laboratory staff and adherence to all safety protocols.
• Problem Identification and Resolution: Actively identify and address issues that may impact laboratory operations or compliance, facilitating prompt resolution and preventive action.
• Document Control: Coordinate the Document Control Process, ensuring that all procedures, forms, and other controlled documents are up-to-date, accurate, and accessible.
• Human Resources Guidance: Provide support in developing and maintaining HR policies and job descriptions specific to laboratory roles, ensuring alignment with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support the overall mission of the laboratory and institution.

Position Compensation Range: $67,000 - $108,000

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or related scientific field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience, with at least 3 years in a management or quality department preferred.
• Licensure: MT or categorical ASCP certification (or equivalent) required.
