Job Title: Quality Control Inspector / Welding Specialist
Location: Richmond, VA
Employment Type: Contract with Potential for Full-Time Conversion

Role Overview:
Operating under broad supervision, oversee and scrutinize the production of parts, assemblies, and finished products, utilizing inspection materials, engineering blueprints, and cutting-edge measuring tools to uphold the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize inspection materials and precision instruments to conduct meticulous end-of-line inspections on parts and assemblies, ensuring perfection at every stage.
- Conduct audits across various departments including Fabrication, Machining, Welding, Painting, and Assembly, guaranteeing the flawless production of goods.
- Take charge of identifying and addressing non-conformances swiftly and efficiently, liaising with management for appropriate resolution.
- Capture inspection findings through comprehensive documentation, including detailed descriptions and visual evidence, to maintain a robust quality inspection database.
- Conduct performance tests on finished products as assigned, contributing to the continuous improvement of product quality.
- Offer invaluable support in problem-solving and troubleshooting related to quality control functions.
- Provide daily support on the manufacturing floor to uphold adherence to standards and specifications.
- Spearheaded and implemented manufacturing enhancements and design modifications aimed at eradicating product defects.
Requirements:
- Possess 3-5 years of hands-on experience in MIG welding, showcasing mastery in the craft.
- Demonstrate a track record of 3+ years in Quality Control or QC inspection roles, exhibiting keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in interpreting blueprints encompassing various disciplines including welding, fabrication, electrical, and assembly, along with technical instructions and schematics.
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring equipment such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a knack for conveying complex information effectively.
- Preferred proficiency in computer-based data entry and retrieval.
- Maintain an acceptable driving record as per liability insurance requirements.
Qualifications:
- Hold a High School diploma or GED certificate.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes including fabrication, welding, machining, painting, and assembly practices is advantageous.
- Prior experience in auditing or inspecting within a manufacturing environment is desirable.
- Basic knowledge of statistical analysis and root cause analysis is preferred.
Working Environment:
- Be prepared for physical demands including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs. and climbing in and out of vehicles.
- Expect to spend significant time standing and walking on concrete surfaces and outdoors.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and overtime.
- Occasional irregular hours may be required to meet operational demands.
