Job Description
EDMIS is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the quality and integrity of our products throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate customer specifications and applicable standards into comprehensive production documentation
- Develop and maintain quality control documentation, including inspection plans, checklists, and control charts
- Supervise a team of quality inspectors, including assigning tasks and providing training and guidance
- Perform root cause analysis of quality issues, identify corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs), and implement effective solutions
- Conduct internal audits of all departments to assess compliance with QMS requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100)
- Develop and maintain audit schedules and reports, document findings and corrective actions
- Maintain and update QMS documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and records
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., production, engineering, purchasing) to drive continuous improvement in product quality and process efficiency while maintaining a culture of quality throughout the organization.
- Support the preparation for and participation in external audits conducted by regulatory bodies or customers
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality and identify trends to proactively address potential issues
- Investigate customer complaints, analyze data, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Conduct thorough inspections of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods to ensure compliance with established quality standards and customer specifications
- Train production personnel on quality control procedures and best practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field)
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong focus on quality assurance and compliance.
- Proven experience with inspection tools (Micrometers, comparators, etc.)
- Proven experience conducting internal and/or external audits.
- In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 and other relevant quality standards.
- Strong understanding and practical application of 6 Sigma methodologies
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Bonus Skills:
- Knowledge of optical inspection equipment
- Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or similar certification
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
