Overview
The primary function of the Quality Assurance Technician is Paint analysis, Collecting and recording batch information, obtaining samples for customers, assisting Quality Manager in color matching, assisting in training of personnel in any quality control areas of production, communicating with paint vendors, having the ability to work independently as well as a team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Perform all duties to the safety standards established as they relate to the position.
- Paint batch analysis - to include batch preships, drawdowns, and recording line performance to batch sheets.
- Perform all Quality Assurance testing procedures on batches.
- Quality data monitoring to include review of line performance for offsets.
- Statistical process control to include evaluation of paint performance.
- Color matching samples for prospective customer or vendor development.
- Ability to use, standardize, and troubleshoot all Quality Assurance instruments.
- Communicate with paint vendor quality personnel as regards individual batches and procedures.
- Collect and evaluate raw metal samples; work with QA Manager in communicating findings to vendor and/or customer.
- Assist paint line inspectors in collecting data from past runs.
- Accumulate and sort daily production records.
- Filing of daily retains; maintaining retain boxes.
- File and monitor Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) as required by OSHA and Product Specification Sheets (PDS).
- Inventory and order lab supplies and safety supplies on a weekly basis.
- Work with QA Manager to disposition holds from paint line.
- Collect and process acceleration test samples.
- Inventory all scrap on a semi-monthly basis.
- Inventory all Vorteq Coil Finishers metal on a semi- monthly basis.
- Communicate with other Vorteq Coil Finishers plants on Intermix and paint vendor coating performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficient in reading and writing
- Mathematical skills and ability to understand basic measurements
- Comfort level with a calculator and computer for occasional data entry and/or data lookup
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends
- Forklift Experience preferred but not required
- Exposure to production environment preferred but not required
- Bilingual preferred but not required

- Manufacturing plant environment with dirt, dust and temperature fluctuations based on seasonal conditions with minimal fans and heaters.
- Large machinery with moving parts as well as forklift traffic and material storage.
Pay:
- Starting at $21.00 per hour
