Job Details
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure safe and legal products with the desired quality characteristics in accordance with the GMP’s, HACCP, following the Food Safety Quality Management System.
Handle all products with care in the appropriate manner in order to minimize loss in the quality or appearance of the finished product.
Keep work area, tools and supplies organized and sanitary throughout the shift. Tools to be maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
Responsible for immediately reporting of any problems with GMP’s, HACCP or the Food Safety / Quality Management System.
Assist in the training of other employees as needed.
Perform other duties as requested.
Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
Equipment problems or malfunctions and accidents will be reported immediately to the Shift supervisor and/or Plant Manager / Management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Monitoring of production lines, including weights, metal detection, product and case coding, and operator paperwork.
2. Maintaining accurate and complete records of monitoring.
3. Minor lab work
a. moisture content
b. pH
4. Supervision of line employees to meet GMP and Quality, Food Safety Management System requirements
5. Placing any inferior or questionable products shall be placed on departmental temporary hold.
6. Receiving Bulk Flour per standard operating procedures.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED TO CARRY OUT THE JOB DUTIES OF THIS POSITION:
1. Bilingual - Spanish and English – Prefer person to be bilingual - Usually with at least conversational Spanish - In some cases depending on the skills of the shift’s Operators and Leads a person that only knows minimal English/Spanish may be considered but Spanish speakers will be required to study English
2. Prefer 1 year -Food Manufacturing Experience – (Especially someone with experience in Food Quality)
3. Prefer minimum High School diploma or GED
4. Reading, writing and mathematical skills
5. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision Ability to stoop, kneel, climb, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, talk, hear, lift, and perform repetitive motions.
