Job Qualifications
- Required four-year college Computer Science Degree or equivalent experience
- Required minimum of five years previous QA Manager experience working within IT and Business testing functions
- Strong experience in QA, cloud system architecture/infrastructure
- Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG)
- Experience with project tracking software (e.g., JIRA, Asana)
- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling)
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes
- Familiarity with Agile (Scrum) methodologies
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
- ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) are a plus
- Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines while paying attention to details
- Proven ability to work within an environment that is fast paced, requiring changing priorities
- Proven customer service skills are required to create, maintain and enhance user relationships
- Ability to demonstrate sound business judgment when making quick and clear decisions in accordance with Firm policies
- Ability to work with and develop subordinate skills while creating a positive work environment for the team
Summary of Duties
- The Quality Assurance Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance with industry regulations in our production processes. They will oversee quality control procedures and work closely with production teams to maintain the integrity of ERP, SaaS and Custom solutions.
- Frequent interaction with internal and external users including staff, clients and management where courtesy, tact, cooperation and negotiation is required to problem solve user issues.
Supervision
- Exercised: Position will provide direct supervision of the QA team members. Forecasted at two positions.
- Received: This position reports directly to the Director of Technology Services. Indirect supervision may be received from the Chief Information Officer.
Job Duties
- Define and setup the overall QA program for application development and IT infrastructure
- Set and monitor quality measurement KPI’s and metrics and implementing process improvements off the back of trends and insights
- Lead program reviews and advise others on the design of the process both in the field of quality assurance and the quality of the development process within programs
- Define the environments required, appropriate tooling, roles, skills and the quality process given the overall development process within programs
- Identify areas for process improvement within the production workflow and collaborate with relevant teams to implement corrective actions and preventive measures
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, IT quality, and overall efficiency
- Manage, communicate and educate teams on the UAT process
- Foster a quality first mindset across teams and educate personnel on QA processes
- Foster effective communication between the quality assurance team, production teams, and other relevant departments to address quality-related issues promptly
- Identify potential risks and implement risk mitigation strategies to prevent quality- related issues
- Deliver capability assessment/audits, benchmarking, reporting and evaluations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand software requirements and create test plans
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts applications
- Work closely with developers to understand application architecture and design automation frameworks that integrate with continuous integration pipelines
- Participate in the review of product requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
- Identify and report software defects, ensuring accurate and detailed documentation
- Track issue resolution and retesting
- Coordinate tester activities
- Stay up to date with industry best practices, tools, and techniques related to test automation
- Build long-term, strategic relationships at C-level and maintains a strong understanding of the industry and business
Working Conditions
- Ability to work outside scheduled work time as required
- Availability by phone and e-mail (24/7) is required
- Work may be performed at a client site or in corporate headquarters in a professional work environment
- Hazards include working with office machines (computer, servers, printers and scanning equipment)

The anticipated pay range for this role is $116,000-$147,000 in Chicago. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on several factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
