We’re looking for a motivated Quality Assurance and Food Safety Specialist to oversee and maintain our Quality Assurance (QA) and Food Safety programs. In this role, you’ll work closely with leadership across all departments to ensure compliance with FDA regulations, HACCP, SQF, and other key quality certifications. Your expertise will help drive continuous improvement, all while making a meaningful contribution to a growing, family-focused organization.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Oversee QA Programs: Manage food safety, quality systems (HACCP, SQF), regulatory compliance, and customer complaint investigations.
- Lead Audits: Serve as the SQF Practitioner and lead internal and third-party audits, including GFSI, SQF, and regulatory agency reviews.
- Maintain Certifications: Ensure compliance with food safety standards and maintain company certifications.
- Conduct Training: Train team members on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety, and QA programs.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Collaborate across departments to monitor product quality, environmental standards, and sanitation programs while identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Technical Support: Support daily operations, troubleshoot production issues, and work closely with leadership to develop effective solutions.
- Support Administrative and Operational Activities: Manage incoming and outgoing product testing and shipments, maintain inventory and transaction records, handle incoming and outgoing communications (calls, mail, and correspondence), and ensure timely and accurate filing and reporting of essential documents.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:
- Education: High School Diploma/GED required; an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field is a plus.
- Experience: Prior experience in food manufacturing, FDA-regulated industries, or quality certifications (e.g., ISO 9000) preferred.
- Certifications: HACCP and/or SQF certifications are highly desired (must be obtained within the first year if not already held).
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems.
- Ability to solve practical problems and implement effective solutions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional leadership and team members.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This role combines office and plant settings in a dynamic food manufacturing environment. While occasional exposure to temperature changes, machinery, and noise is possible, safety is always our top priority. You must be able to lift 45-50 pounds.
