WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
The Quality Assurance Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and compliance of operations within Hall Ambulance Service. Under the direction of the QA Manager, the assistant supports the review and improvement of service delivery, patient care documentation, operational procedures, and overall company performance. This position is responsible for reviewing electronic patient care reports to identify missing data, signatures, or other discrepancies, and preparing daily status reports for management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Review and Audit Patient Care Reports: Efficiently review a high volume of daily patient care reports to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with documentation standards
Prepare and Submit Status Reports: Compile and submit detailed daily status reports to the Quality Assurance Manager, highlighting key findings, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
- Maintain Assignment Tracking: Keep current and accurate records of ongoing tasks, ensuring all assignments are up to date and data is filed promptly and correctly.
- Ensure Compliance with Documentation Standards: Stay well-informed on the latest reporting and documentation procedures, enabling quick identification of deficiencies or missing information in submitted reports.
- Prepare and maintain accurate reports summarizing audit findings, performance data, and corrective actions taken. Share insights with the QA Manager and other departments as needed.
- Compliance with Protocols: Review documentation to ensure that all medical protocols were followed, and identifying any deviations or potential issues that need further investigation.
- Clinical Audits: Conducting audits of emergency calls to evaluate the quality of care provided, the appropriateness of interventions, and adherence to clinical protocols.
- Trend Identification: Identifying trends in incidents or patient care that could indicate areas for improvement, such as recurrent equipment failures, delays in care, or protocol deviations.
- Performs other duties or tasks as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager.
TRAINING & EDUCATION:
The individual in this position must possess the following education requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Insurable by Hall Ambulance Service, Inc. driver's insurance policy including age minimum of 19 years old.
- Valid & current Class C California Driver License.

The individual in this position must possess the following qualifications:
- • Knowledge of EMS Systems preferred: Some understanding of emergency medical services protocols, including safety standards.
• Attention to Detail: Reviewing reports, logs, and patient care records with a keen eye for errors, inconsistencies, or areas of concern.
• Data Analysis: Ability to collect, analyze, and present data in a meaningful way to identify trends or areas for improvement.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings and interacting with staff, patients, and management.
• Problem-Solving: Identifying issues and helping to create practical, actionable solutions for improving care and operations.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with industry regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and understanding how they apply to ambulance services.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively with a diverse range of individuals, teams, managers, supervisors, and external customers. Excellent ability to communicate and work cohesively across Department lines.
• Must possess strong organizational skills, have an analytical approach, and maintain exceptional attention to detail.
• Must have computer competency including proficiency with Microsoft Suite, and understanding of database programs.
• Records maintenance skills and the ability to interpret and compile reports.
• Ability to read, comprehend, adhere to, and recognize deficiencies in compliance with all company and applicable government rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Lift objects weighing up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to sit and type at a computer station for long periods of time.
- Continuous listening and speaking ability required.
Pay rate: $18.00 per hour
