Role Overview
The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality software applications through comprehensive testing and process evaluation. The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality software applications through comprehensive testing and process evaluation. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain quality standards, training staff on quality processes, and performing quality audits.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Planning and Execution
- Develop system test plans and execute multi-week testing scenarios for scratch-off and online sales, activity, validation, billing, and inventory tracking.
- Conduct or witness unit and integration tests, document results, and ensure enhancements and anomaly corrections meet requirements.
- Assist in selecting and integrating test tracking/management tools.
- Defect Management and Quality Assurance
- Track and resolve defects using established configuration management practices.
- Prepare and submit software change requests for system enhancements or corrections.
- Support the development and implementation of Software Quality Assurance (SQA) policies and procedures.
- Conduct quality audits to ensure compliance with standards and methodologies.
- Documentation and Analysis
- Review and provide feedback on requirements specifications, design documents, user manuals, and gaming planning documentation.
- Research and report findings on system incidents and anomalies to stakeholders.
- Collaboration and Training
- Work with management to develop testing schedules and train analysts on effective testing practices.
- Assist users in defining software enhancement requirements and communicate needs to vendors and developers.
- Educate users on system capabilities, limitations, and new features.
- Leadership and Support
- Provide guidance to junior SQA analysts.
- Assist in training project and SQA personnel on SQA tasks.
- Customer Service
- Deliver exceptional support and service to internal and external stakeholders.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years in systems development, testing, and/or business processes.
- Strong understanding of software testing principles, ticketing, and bug-tracking systems.
- Familiarity with lottery systems (preferred).
- Proficiency in data processing terminology, word processing, spreadsheets, and email programs.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical processes to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Independent judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of system capabilities and the ability to communicate requirements to vendors and developers.
- Experience creating detailed test scripts and auditing system reports.
