About the Job
We are seeking compassionate and nurturing counselors to partner with us in our fantastic journey for developing a positive relationship with clients and assisting them to actively work towards better health and well-being by providing them with support, encouragement, and education.
Appalachian Community Services (ACS) an ncgCARE partner, provides mental health, substance abuse, and intellectual/developmental disability services to individuals and families within the seven western counties of North Carolina. Our mission is to promote the emotional and physical well-being of consumers in a safe and respectful environment.
We are committed to providing a wide array of services to effectively meet the changing needs within the community. These services include counseling and psychiatry, substance use treatment, mobile and residential crisis stabilization, intensive in-home, community support teams, peer support, and group homes.
The Qualified Professional will:
Provide superior customer service and quality home care
Focus on managing coordination of client services and emergent scheduling issues
Manage your Client Services Manager caseload while proactively growing it
Build lasting relationships with clients, referral sources, payors and community organizations
Develop strong, communicative relationships with the team
Maintain effective fiscal management of your caseload by monitoring metrics
Qualified Professionals will partner with IDD Residential Coordinator and Director to provide supervision and support to field employees.
Qualifications include:
Bachelor degree is required
Must be a Qualified Professional, with at least 2 years of experience working with the I/DD population
Prior supervisory experience a plus
Demonstrated record of successfully taking on increased responsibility
Ability to work in a face paced and quickly changing environment
Ambition to grow and advance beyond current position
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Position Specific and Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a field other than human services with 4 years experience working with the MH/SA/DD population to be served; or bachelor’s degree in human services with 2 years experience working with the population served.
Minimum of four years of supervisor experience in a child mental health setting preferred.
Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities.
QP (Qualified Professional) credential is required for this position.
Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
