Position Summary
As a Quality Control Manager at CEG Solutions, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our challenging energy efficiency construction projects. You'll oversee the implementation of quality control plans, conduct inspections, manage client relationships, and ensure our projects meet the highest standards. The ideal candidate location is in the Northern VA, Washington DC area. This position will require occasional overnight travel and will afford the opportunity to work remote from home with company supplied equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive Quality Control Plans / ISO 9001
- Responsibility, accountability and decision-making authority for facilitating the implementation of systems, programs and strategic initiatives that advance entity capability. Develops and aligns strategies, initiatives, supporting infrastructure, and budgets that enable the entity to achieve results that align with established quality imperatives to create and sustain operational excellence.
- Communicates objectives to staff to ensure understanding of quality goals and their alignment.
- Oversees initiatives and operations, including staff, budget, and vendor management.
- Measures effectiveness and take steps to ensure continuous improvement of entity performance.
- Facilitates change to advance the organization and uses resources and operational practices to drive execution of plans.
- Ensures that policies, procedures and practices are operationalized to support safe, reliable care, regulatory compliance, and fosters a continuous learning culture.
- Accountable for a positive organizational culture in decision making and performance management to influence work attitudes and enhance job satisfaction.
- Has oversight of quality programs such as regulatory compliance, performance improvement and/or employee (construction site) safety.
- Member of management teams and functions as a key liaison between the leadership teams, staff and clients.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a QC Manager level in construction, ideally with building energy efficiency systems (HVAC, controls, lighting, etc.)
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field with strong knowledge of construction disciplines (civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical)
- Must have prior experience implementing and maintaining an ISO 9001 Quality Management System
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of US Army Corps of Engineers Construction Quality Management training and/or Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C)
- Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green/Black Belt)
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification
- Certified Quality Manager (CQM)
- Experience with energy systems project implementation, including performance contracts
- Experience performing retrofit work on military bases
- Physical Ability to Perform On-Site Inspections: Candidates should be capable of climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, and walking through construction sites.
- Experience with Military or Federal Projects: If the role involves government contracts, experience with military or federal construction standards would be highly beneficial.
- Change Management: Candidates should have experience in managing changes in project scope and quality requirements throughout a project's lifecycle.
- Attention to Detail: The ability to maintain meticulous attention to detail is essential to identify issues before they escalate.
- Strong Analytical Skills: Emphasize the need for interpreting data and making informed decisions that enhance quality outcomes.
- Problem-Solving: Candidates must possess strong critical thinking skills to quickly and effectively address quality issues as they arise.

Wages + Salary
The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $125,999 annually. CEG Solutions LLC takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
Please note that this is a general estimate and does not incorporate any adjustments for geographic location. Typically, starting salaries are determined based on individual qualifications and experience, and may fall below the top end of the range.
In addition to your salary, you may qualify for our annual bonus program. This program is discretionary and awards, if any, are based on your performance as well as the company's overall success.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Performance of the job responsibilities will require the ability to (1) use tools and operate equipment in the field, (2) ascend/descend both exterior and interior ladders/stairs, and (3) move safely around an area under construction. The employee must also be able to easily communicate with clients, stakeholders, and other employees and observe various pieces of equipment in the field. The employee must occasionally move and/or transport up to 75 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works at the construction work site where the employee where risk of moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud. Personal protection equipment and required safety training will be provided by the employer.
