Summary
A world leader in food product and industrial ingredients is continuing to expand and have an immediate opening for their Quality Lab. This Quality Lab Tech will support the Quality Control team doing analytical and microbiological testing while following FDA, USDA, and GMP requirements. Playing a vital role in the overall Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions, analyzing both final product and in-process sample streams utilizing HPLC, AA, GC, FT-IR, NIR, Karl Fischer titration, refractive index, particle size distribution, direct and viable micro testing, pH, spectrophotometric methods, microscopic examination as well as physical testing. Must be detail oriented, a self starter, and capable of producing high quality results on a consistent basis with minimal oversight.
Responsibilities
+ Preparation and analysis of various final product and in-process samples utilizing analytical instruments and wet chemistry techniques
+ Facilitate the plant process flow by providing timely, accurate analysis results
+ Posting analysis results into data systems and communicating to plant personnel
+ Recognize abnormal findings and work with process teams to resolve
+ Final QA/QC of outbound shipments and documenting results
+ Follow established analysis methodologies
+ Basic laboratory equipment maintenance
+ Support other departments with analytical and project-based efforts on an ad hoc basis
+ Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures
+ Understand and demonstrate core values and actively participate
+ Advance through the skill block system, achieving four 'operate' skill blocks along with the 'basic' skill block
Essential Qualifications & Skills
+ 4-year degree in Chemistry, Biology, or other relevant scientific discipline
+ Ability to prepare and analyze in-process and finished goods using various laboratory methodologies and equipment
+ Experience with HPLC, GC, AA, NIR, pH, etc.
+ Ability to multi-task and prioritize with an attention to detail
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Self-starting and detail-oriented
+ Good troubleshooting skills
+ Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
+ Knowledge and experience with SAP is a plus
+ Experience and understanding of various analytical instruments and testing methods
+ Hands-on analytical lab experience
+ Training in lab techniques from analytical chemistry to biology

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00
