The QAPI Coordinator manages the development and implementation of the QAPI program. In charge of reviewing hospice medical records for assessment of the quality of clinical services to ensure adherence to all policies and procedures and applicable standards and makes recommendations for changes in policies, procedures, systems and for staff education. Serves as liaison to and conduit between the Director of Patient Care Services, clinical staff on his/her respective team, patients and their families, and the community. Participates in the implementation of clinical policies and procedures; and carries out the organization's purposes in a manner consistent with the goals, objectives, and established policies.
This position requires the ability to work flexible hours and may include evenings and weekends as necessary. Hybrid work (home/office) is also available.
Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or school of vocational/practical nursing.
Credentials:
Current CA license as an RN
Experience:
At least two years of varied work experience as a licensed nurse and preferably one of the two years as QAPI nurse. One year hospice experience.
Core Competencies:
Ability to make meaningful observations and write comprehensive accurate reports. Knowledge of QAPI functions/Medicare COPs, State regulations. Good computer skills. Ability to be attentive to detail. Possesses excellent verbal and written skills. Possesses a sympathetic attitude toward caring for the hospice patient and demonstrates positive communication skills in interacting with other members of the hospice team.
