ABOUT THE JOB
The QA Tech works within the Operation areas of Issuing, Compounding, Packaging and at times Incoming. This team member will perform a variety of general duties to assist in the day-to-day operations of the quality area, including inspections, documentation, record keeping, data entry, reporting and compliance. Will assist the Quality team in safeguarding the quality standards set in the organization, ensuring compliance to state and federal regulations, including cGMP, and international product compliance. Will also ensure that all Operations areas adhere to best-practice quality procedures.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Maintain knowledge of the latest product standards, product specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for areas of accountability. Assist the supervisor in maintaining SOPs that pertain to areas of ownership.
- Complete priorities, Inspections and work assignments as assigned.
- Work with team to complete assigned corrective action plans.
- Assist with material reviews/Investigations when Issues are found; use root cause analysis and corrective action planning; follow corrective action plans as recommended and outlined by management. Document Issues through observations and material review reports.
- Track data for the reporting and analyzing trends and metrics for quality assurance.
- Complete assigned cross training within the Quality department.
- Perform other duties and functions as assigned.
- Duties conditional on area of assignments that may include and are not limited to the following:
- Sample and visual examine product and materials to ensure the conformance to specifications and manufacturing according to GMP guidelines for all the following categories of Incoming product and materials: components, raw materials, packaging, labels, in process materials, product received for packaging and/or labeling, and finished product received for distribution.
- Monitor area clearances, cleaning logs, in process AQLs, in process machine setups, and verify that they are complete and accurate.
- Review and audit batch records and attached paperwork for appropriate Information, correctness, proper editing techniques and completeness.
- Assist In "on the floor" activities (line clearances, product inspection.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position does not supervise people.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent with 2-4 years of Quality experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in dietary, food, pharmaceutical industry.
- Knowledge of how to review, identify and apply information set forth in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Work proactively and deal effectively with high expectations and heavy workload.
- Develop effective working relationships with managers and fellow team.
- Cross-departmental problem solving.
- Knowledge of dietary supplement, food and cosmetic GMP standards and guidelines.
- Experience handling confidential information.
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of MS products such as Word, Excel and Access.
- Apply result-driving strategies.
- Meet established timeframes.
- Ability to lift 30-50 lbs.
- 4-day, 10-hour shifts from 1:00 PM to 11:30 PM

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Production operations are performed in a warehouse/production plant setting, including periodic exposure to physical elements related to manufacturing processes.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Tasks require a variety of physical activities such as walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, and seeing. Common eye, hand, finger dexterity required. Mental applications utilize memory for directions, verbal instructions, emotional stability, discriminating thinking and guided problem solving.
