Job Description:

The QA Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, running, maintaining and documenting all types of test automation. This includes functional automation, performance testing, technical test automation and system administration duties for the team's test tools. This person will participate in the development of test automation strategies within the Quality Assurance Team. Works closely with QA Software Testers, IT software development and project teams to develop test automation strategies and create test automation that supports the delivery of high quality software.

Additional Details:

Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 5-7 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Designs, develops, and implements test frameworks for applications. Quality engineer should analyze the functionality of the application, create testing design documents, review the test cases and implement automated test suites.

Skills Requirements:

• Automation frameworks
• Proficiency in SQL queries
• Knowledge on any object oriented programming, preferably Java.
• Experience in working with CI/CD pipelines
• Working on cloud
• Experience deploying containerized test suites,
• Experience in cloud platforms, like Azure, GCP is an added advantage.

Top 3 skills: 5-7 years or experience with test automation.

• Automation frameworks (cucumber, karate)
• Proficiency in SQL queries (knowledge of joins, stored procedures, etc)
• Decent knowledge on object-oriented programming
• Previous walmart experience is a nice-to-have

Skills and/or experience would separate the top candidate:

• Azure/GCP Cloud experience
• CI/CD pipeline implementation

Day-to-day responsibilities:

• Designs, develops, and implements test frameworks
• Writing and automating the test cases
• Executing the tests
• Report the defects
• Work with developer on the reported defects

About the project: They will be working on Sam's Cash - this is where members purchasing merchandise in the clubs earn rewards along with extra rewards for using their mastercard. The Quality Engineer will analyze the test cases, automate the tests according to the requirement and sign off on the changes to move after the all expected tests are working as expected before moving the changes to production.
