Overview:
Job Summary: Collect, review, and file batch records and CCP records to ensure compliance with HACCP and Food Safety standards.
Responsibilities:Essential Functions:
- Collect batch records and CCP records.
- Review production paperwork and temperature charts for documentation errors and accuracy and ensures necessary corrections are made.
- Review CCP data to ensure compliance with standards prior to release of finished product.
- Notify management immediately when records do not meet food safety standards.
- Place non-conforming product on hold.
- File production paperwork.
- Take part in GMP plant audits.
- Adheres to food safety, quality, and legal compliance. In the event of a crisis (ie., product recall, fire, etc.) Delegate responsibilities as outlined in the crisis communications and management guide.
- Perform other related and assigned duties as necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and experience equivalent to:
Education/Certification
Bachelor’s degree in food science, chemistry, microbiology, or related field of science from an accredited college or university is preferred
Work Experience
An understanding of food safety and regulations
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of (B/basic; J/journey; E/expert):
- Food safety concepts (E)
- HACCP programs and related food safety regulations (E)
- Food chemistry (B)
- PC word processing/spreadsheet software (B)
Skill and ability to:
- Work independently
- Interpret testing anomalies and notify management
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with internal departments verbally and in writing
- Read and process written information with a high degree of accuracy
- Work effectively in a general business environment, with a focus on high levels of quality and customer service
