OVERVIEW
Kitsap Transit has been operating since 1983 and with that, the agency has grown substantially.
We are looking for someone to assist the finance department in researching and purchasing products, services and office equipment leases.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Prepares and coordinates bid solicitation packages consisting of standard terms and conditions.
- Researches and compiles information related to price, availability, delivery, quality, warranty and reliability of products, services and office equipment leases;
- Assists agency staff with purchasing activities to ensure that purchase requisitions and activities comply with Kitsap Transits procurement policies;
- Responds to purchasing related inquiries; investigates and resolves complaints about products and services;
- Administers and maintains a reliable vendor base; tracks orders; and prepares correspondence.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 18 years of age by the time of hire
- Must possess a valid WA State Drivers license at time of hire.
- High-school graduation and two years of college level coursework in finance, accounting or purchasing and two years of experience in purchasing.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Positions in this class typically require: dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other equipment, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. This position is mostly sedentary, but incumbent will be required to assist in the vault room processing fares collected from the buses. This would require lifting up to 30 pounds several times and includes bending and reaching.
