We are seeking a proactive and experienced Purchasing Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will manage the procurement process to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. Your strategic input will be crucial in optimizing our supply chain operations and contributing to the overall success of our organization.
Compensation target: $60,000 - $70,000

Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough market research to identify and evaluate potential suppliers.
- Negotiate and establish favorable terms with suppliers, focusing on pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and meet their purchasing needs.
- Prepare and accurately process purchase orders in compliance with company policies.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers for timely deliveries.
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to orders, deliveries, or invoices.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in procurement and supply chain management
- Assist in developing procurement strategies for cost savings and operational efficiency.
- Communicate daily with vendors to ensure timely delivery compliance.
- Run weekly expediting reports to meet customer needs promptly.
- Support department goals by adhering to policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards.
- Maintain excellent customer service relations with business units, co-workers and vendors through consistent follow-up and clear communication; both verbally and written.
- Investigate customer issues thoroughly using all resources available. Follow up on requested inquiries and liaise with vendors regarding late orders or obtaining products from alternate vendor.
- Collaborate with accounts payable to resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Ensure pricing integrity by contacting vendors and reporting discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a purchasing role or similar procurement role.
- Proven experience in sourcing and supplier management.
- Strong time management skills.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
- Proficiency with procurement software and tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards.
