JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client is looking for a Purchasing Top Talent professional with 7 or more years' experience to join their team as a Purchasing Manager. The Purchasing Manager leads the Company purchasing strategy by overseeing all activities involved in the identification and acquisition of materials and services
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.
- Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
- Negotiates prices for raw material and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies.
- Creates and executes plans to meet annual cost reduction targets of the company.
- Evaluates supplier risks and creates mitigation recommendations - i.e., single sourced materials, long logistics pipeline, financially distressed suppliers, etc.
- Leads bi-annual physical inventory count of materials.
- Develops and maintains contracts for suppliers.
- Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability.
- Develops policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes.
- Participates on various project teams providing information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials as well as to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow.
EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years of Purchasing experience including at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Excellent communication skills including interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Supplier Contract negotiations.
- Supplier Dashboard creation.
- Inventory management.
- Low-cost country purchasing.
- Supplier optimization.
- Supplier quality.
