Position Summary:
Manages and performs general purchasing departmental activities for hospital departments and physician practices. Within the defined organization structure, works to identify and implement opportunities for quality improvements and cost savings related to standardization and utilization by appropriating assisting in the selection, evaluation, procurement, monitoring, analysis and implementation of high quality, efficient and cost effective products, services, processes and suppliers. Responsible for promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Performs all duties in a manner consistent with St. Luke’s mission and values.
Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree required; master's degree in field of expertise or related business or clinical areas preferred
Experience: Five plus years of position related experience required Three plus years of supervisory experience required Negotiations and Contracting Experience required Knowledge of Materials Management/Purchasing computer system is required; knowledge of McKesson Pathways Materials Management is a plus Progressive healthcare experience, medical terminology proficiency, and broad base clinical knowledge with an eagerness to expand that knowledge required
