Overview:The Purchasing Expeditor is responsible for executing daily operational purchasing for all raw materials, components, co-manufacturing services, labels, equipment, MRO and miscellaneous supplies from vendors. The Purchasing Expeditor will prioritize purchasing activities to ensure materials are received on a timely basis. The role provides superior service to internal customers while holding suppliers accountable on specifications, cost, delivery, and paperwork accuracy. The role works very closely with Supply Chain to ensure safety stocks, inventory levels and company financial goals are met based on MRP requirements and business needs
Qualifications:EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• High School diploma or equivalent required. College degree a plus.
• Certifications in procurement, supply chain or a related field a plus.
• 3+ years’ experience purchasing raw materials and packaging components in a manufacturing environment. Food and beverage industry experience is a plus.
• Experience with ERP systems and implementing ERP systems helpful.
• Data Base management utilizing Microsoft Excel, Access, and other platforms.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Working knowledge of purchasing terms, practices, and techniques.
• Experience maintaining databases using Microsoft Excel and other platforms.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to organize, prioritize, meet established deadlines, and communicate effectively (verbal and written).
• In-depth knowledge of quality criteria and project management.

• Should be able to read and understand financial statements and cost reports, prepare budgets, and focus on and managing costs.
• Ability to record, report and analyze reliable data.

• Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write English.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position works primarily in an open office environment. It requires seated work for a minimum of 6 hours per day. When required to enter or work in the food manufacturing or warehouse locations, the position requires the ability to adhere to all GMP, Food Safety, workplace safety, and security policies including wearing required personal protective equipment, as well hair net, beard net, etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to work in an open office environment.
• Ability to work in a seated position for a minimum of 6 hours a day.
• Ability to utilize office equipment including computer, phone, headset, copier, printers, faxes etc.
• Ability to wear PPE when entering or working in the manufacturing and our warehouse areas.
• Manage the Buying process by monitoring key Purchasing signals based on production planning.
• Place, track, monitor and follow-up Purchased Orders to ensure material ordered is delivered on-time, meeting quality and documentation standards. Purchase orders include all materials, sub-contracting orders and non-inventory items.
• Follow up to expedite or de-expedite purchase orders as required. Provide prompt status information on critical orders.
• Ensure all paperwork for incoming deliveries is accurate and accompanies the delivery of raw materials, quickly solving any discrepancies as they occur.
• Support the Quality department in obtaining documents to assure GMP compliance.
• Monitor quality and adherence to specifications of products purchased.
• Discuss defective or unacceptable raw materials or components with Quality Control, users, vendors, and others to determine the source of the problem and take corrective action.
• Communicate any supply chain threats and strategic buy ahead opportunities.
• Purchase related operating supplies for the office environment.
• Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in all supplier relationships.
• Know and understand GMP policies and comply with all requirements.
• Communicate effectively with all departments regarding any pertinent information.
• Other duties as assigned.
