Purchasing Clerk - Sage Hospitality

Sage Hospitality Group is looking to hire a Purchasing Clerk to join us overseeing the Westin Washington City Center!

To support the culinary teams of Departure, Urban Farmer, and our Banquets team in the procurement of exceptional quality food products from all culinary outlets. This is a fast-paced team that takes pride in delivering service and cuisine that goes a step beyond expectation. This position is key in the delivery of that promise.

Open availability between 6am-4pm Monday-Fridays,occassionally working on weekends.

• Responsible for ordering items for the hotel
• Complete requisition forms for inventory and supplies
• Assists in planning and organizing activities related to the procurement function and reporting.
• Assists in developing a system to evaluate vendor quotes that utilize appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery and service.
• Schedule deliveries of items to meet the operational needs
• Reconcile purchase orders with invoices and coordinate with accounting
• Post invoices using computer programs
• Conduct inventory audits to determine inventory levels and needs
• Monitor PAR levels for all food items to ensure proper levels. 
• Open availability between 6am-4pm Monday-Fridays,occassionally working on weekends

Education/Formal Training

High school diploma or vocational secretarial.

Experience

Previous sales, hospitality, and secretarial experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills

• Ability to type 60 WPM, Microsoft Word applications: Word, Excel, Publisher and Powerpoint.
• Alphabetizing, grammar and punctuation skills. 
• Standard business letter formats. 
• Strong editing skills.
• Excellent hearing required for telephone inquiries and client and associate handling.
• Excellent vision required as contracts and letters are hand written, filing, using computer, checking diary.
• Excellent speech communication skills necessary to communicate clearly with customers and other departments.
• Excellent comprehension and literacy required to read manager's letters, help prepare contracts and proposals. Excellent attention to detail and multi tasking skills

• Bending/kneeling - repeated bending and kneeling required while filing.
