Since 2004, SF Puppy Prep has been San Francisco's premier puppy school. This is not a doggy daycare. We offer Bay Area dog owners the opportunity to enroll their dogs in our revolutionary puppy day school, join insightful classes, and participate in fun social events. We help dogs be their best with training that will last them a lifetime.
The position:
- School Supervisor, working with a team of Puppy Counselors
- We are located at 251 6th St, San Francisco, CA 94103
- This role will be scheduled from 7:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
- As needed, you may be asked to work after 4:30pm.
Compensation:
$24 - $28 / hour (depending on experience)
$3800 - $4500 / monthly (depending on experience)

The responsibilities:
Client Management
- Onboard new clients, helping them select courses within our curriculum.
- Provide our clients with a first-class experience from day one to graduation.
- Resolve any client questions or concerns via phone, email, or face-to-face interactions.
- Promote the school locally via social media.
Staff Management
- Support our counselors by opening and closing the school.
- Manage our team of Puppy Counselors at the puppy day school.
- As needed, fill in for Puppy Counselors who are not available.
- Schedule shifts and process payroll.
- Onboard new hires and support established staff with performance reviews.
Operations
- Inventory management and ordering new supplies
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Schedule and work with third-party contractors (cleaners, pest control, recruiting, etc.)
- Design and implement new systems to improve the efficiency of the puppy day school.
The ideal candidate:
- A self-motivated candidate who is comfortable working independently with little supervision.
- We are an established but growing business. We need a supervisor who can step up and be ready for change.
- Be ready and willing to jump in and get their hands dirty without losing sight of the bigger picture and their role.
- Candidates that understand long-term business-to-consumer relationships.
- Prior professional or volunteer animal experience is not required, but a passion for puppies is required.
- After training, all staff members must understand and agree with R Dog Training practices (positive reinforcement).
- Candidates who have previously managed small teams in animal care, retail, or restaurant environments will have a shorter learning curve.
- This position can grow into a larger opportunity within our organization. We prefer a candidate who is interested in a long-term opportunity.
