We are searching for a talented Public Safety Supervisor
Hours: 40hrs
Shift: Night shift, 11:00pm - 7:00am with weekend and holiday rotation
Location: Tobey Hospital - Wareham, MA

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
Responsibilities:Under general supervision of department leadership, this position is responsible for the overall command and leadership of a shift work-group within the department. Provides mentorship, guidance and front line supervision to Public Safety Officers, including Sworn Personnel, in the performance of all duties and responsibilities related to the day-to-day protection and security of Southcoast Health System (SHS) and Southcoast Hospitals Group (SHG) assets and information as well as the safety of all persons on hospital/SHS property. Also responsible for basic healthcare public safety duties, as well as enforcement of the Criminal Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Special State Police Officer under MGL 22C-63 or New Bedford Special Police Officer. This position could have additional responsibilities assigned at the direction of the Operations Manager and Executive Director of Public Safety & Emergency Management. May require rotation to other hospital sites as needed.Qualifications:
- A minimum of three years of experience in Security (preferably healthcare), Law Enforcement or Military required with two years in a supervisory position required.
- Software including WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Knowledge of facilities management and security alarm systems.
- Must possess upon employment or be eligible to obtain and maintain the ability to lawfully possess a firearm for the purposes of law enforcement employment.
- Basic, Advanced, and Supervisor certifications through the International Association of Healthcare Safety and Security (IAHSS) preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Massachusetts Drivers License.
- The ability to be licensed as a Special State Police Officer under the Commonwealth of MA General Laws Chapter 22 C, section 63 strongly preferred.
- If licensed, must consistently meet all training and other requirements for continued licensure.
- Ability to obtain IAHSS Basic Officer, Advanced Officer, and Supervisor Training Certification within one year of eligibility.
- Must obtain and maintain required certifications in the following programs (training provided by department): CPR/AED/First Aid, Narcan (Naloxone) Training, Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) De-Escalation Training; OC Pepper (OCAT), Handcuffing (PATH), Baton (PPBT) education and training.
- International Association of Healthcare Safety and Security (IAHSS) Supervisor Certification within 1 year of hire or promotion.
- Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired
