Title: Public Health Preparedness District CoordinatorLocation: Indianapolis, INInterview:- WebcamIDOH DEP District & Local Readiness-Public Health Preparedness DistrictCoordinator The Public Health Preparedness District Coordinator serves as the primary pointof contact for Local Health Departments (LHDs) within their assigned Districtfor all issues relating to IDOH-Division of Emergency Preparedness, planning,training, exercises, goals, and objectives. The Public Health DistrictCoordinator serves at the direction of the Director of District and LocalReadiness and respective IDOH DEP Regional Supervisor to their area.The overarching responsibility of the Public Health Preparedness DistrictCoordinator is to identify overall preparedness gaps and needs of local healthdepartments within their District, assist with plan development, revision,assist with trainings and exercises, assist with grants management and relayinformation to their respective Regional Supervisor and assist in directingLocal Health Departments to information and other resources appropriate toaddress their needs. It is also the responsibility of the Public HealthPreparedness District Coordinator to work closely with the Hospital PreparednessProgram (HPP) Regional Coordinator to help facilitate coordination between localpublic health and healthcare partners on preparedness efforts that would requireor benefit from collaboration between the two programs entities. This positionwill also work closely with other program areas within IDOH DPE such as Planning& Preparedness, Health Equity & Diversity, Mobile Operations Response as well asIDOH DEP Grants Management.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:• Communicate regularly and frequently with the Regional Supervisor to share theneeds, challenges, and accomplishments of the local health departments withinthe assigned District and to receive instructions and guidance and relay keyinformation.• Attend in person IDOH DEP meetings as scheduled as well as all scheduledvirtual team meetings• Participate in IDOH-Division of Emergency Preparedness conference calls andstaff meetings as scheduled by the respective program Director and RegionalSupervisors.• Attend all regularly scheduled monthly LHD meetings and monthly district LHDMeetings• Attend scheduled District Coalition meetings along with the HPP Coordinatorassigned to the district as well as any additional health department relatedmeetings or events as assigned by Regional Supervisor.• Identify and communicate any planning, training, and exercise support needs oractivities to Regional Supervisor.• Provide guidance and answer questions to IDOH preparedness efforts or directthem to where they may obtain the requested guidance when necessary.• Responsible for tracking grant deliverable progress and completion duringpreparedness activities, data collection efforts, and inventory tracking asdirected.• Complete any reporting and/or tracking forms and documents as identified andrequested by Regional Supervisor and/or Director. • Assist in coordinating Medical Countermeasure (MCM) Operational ReadinessReview(s) (ORR) in CRI jurisdictions as needed.• Submit summary reports of coalition or district meeting, individual meetingssummarized, etc. via Microsoft Teams and communicate essential information toRegional SupervisorPublic Health Preparedness Field Coordinator - Expectations• Staff are expected to have a strong familiarity and understanding with IDOHDivision of Emergency Preparedness policies, standard operating procedures,preparedness and response plans, and technical concepts of operations, and beable to effectively communicate these to the local partners. • Report outcomes (notes) of each meeting by submitting summary via MicrosoftTeams and communicate essential information to Regional Supervisor within 2business days.• If District staff feel they have not been provided sufficient guidance ortraining on any material(s), it is their responsibility to notify their IDOHRegional Supervisor and Contractor Project Supervisor that they requireadditional direction or clarification.• District staff are expected to actively ensure local partners understandtechnical and procedural aspects of IDOH-Division of Emergency Preparedness andother state emergency management and response strategies, tactics, and plans. Ifstaff observe or are made aware of gaps in knowledge or understanding of thesetopics among local partners, it is their responsibility to provide direction andclarification, and to request assistance from their IDOH Regional Supervisor, ifneeded.• District staff are expected to maintain an electronic file of all guidancedocuments, templates, and boiler plates distributed by IDOH and expected todistribute these documents as directed by Regional Supervisors to local partnersand be able to fully explain their purpose and use.• When working with the local partners, District staff serve as representativesof the Indiana Department of Health and are expected to conduct and presentthemselves as such. If at any time, District staff feel as if they are unclearon any duty or expectation as it relates to their position, or feel they needany additional guidance or training pertaining to the technical aspects of theirposition, it is their responsibility to communicate their need to their IDOHRegional Supervisor and the Contractor Project Supervisor.• Stay up to date on CDC, ASPR, IDOH and other relevant guidance documents andprograms.• Field Coordinator is a remote work position but expected to travel acrossrespective district/State of Indiana approximately 50% of the time.• Monthly visits to Local Health Departments within respective assigneddistricts are required in addition.
