Halvik is looking for a Public Affairs Specialist for a long term role for our government client near Arlington, VA.
Position Description
- Research, write, and edit articles and other written products for inclusion into publications including, but not limited to, Army Sustainment Magazine, Association of the United States Army Green Book, Military Logistics Forum, and Army Times. Products will be tailored to reach global audiences, ranging from the US Congress, external and internal government agencies, to Logistics Soldiers and Civilians across the Army.
- Provide analytical and functional review of articles prepared for a variety of publications and mediums.
- Plan, manage, facilitate and execute the strategic communications and marketing for major events including but not limited to Town Halls, DCS, G-4 Offsite events, promotion and retirement ceremonies, and engagements for senior leader Logisticians.
- Research potential topics of discussion for engagement. Coordinate with internal and external subject matter experts to develop and provide material to DCS, G-4 in preparation for discussion.
- Provide support to develop, manage, and execute strategic communications and public affairs products for Army Logistics social media.
- Develop and publish a highly dynamic weekly media report and DCS, G-4 website for subject matter experts which will provide situational awareness on news of interest to the logistics community.
- Develop and coordinate various briefings, public affairs guidance, strategic communication plans, press releases, marketing materials, and products in support of Army sustainment and logistics.
- Provide accurate and timely technical and analytical advice, guidance, and products as required by individual task orders.
- Assist with the administrative coordination for designated events such as video teleconferences, town halls, and other forums.
Requirements
- Communications-related bachelor's degree with 4 years of experience or unrelated degree with 9 years of applicable experience.
- Active DOD security clearance.
