Definition

The Coast Community College District comprises Coastline Community College, Golden West College, and Orange Coast College, collectively serving over 60,000 students annually across more than 300 degree and certificate programs. Established in 1947, the district is governed by a locally elected Board of Trustees and is recognized as a leading community college district in the U.S. It is committed to quality education, equitable outcomes, and diversity. The student body includes 32.67% Latinx, 30.60% White, and 22.79% Asian, among others. The district actively engages in professional development and partnerships to support diverse populations.

Qualifications and Physical Demands

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must meet one of the following:

a. Valid California Community College instructor credential;

b. Master's degree in sociology;

c. Bachelor's in sociology AND a Master's in anthropology, ethnic studies, social work, or psychology;

d. Equivalent combination of education and experience.

2. Evidence of sensitivity and ability to instruct diverse community college students.

Conditions of Employment

Employment is part-time and temporary, contingent on background verification and Board approval. This is a continuous recruitment for part-time positions. Regular attendance is essential. The individual is a mandated reporter under California law. The district values diversity and encourages applicants who support its strategic goals. SALARY is based on LHE according to the current salary schedule.
