PT Facilities Plumber - Oglethorpe University

Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the PT Facilities Plumber Pipefitter will provide licensed plumbing services to the University in a...A high school diploma or equivalent and minimum of 5 years of commercial/industrial plumbing experience is required. Journeyman license is required, Master plumbing license is preferred.  Experience in a University setting preferred.  Must possess strong knowledge of other building trades and preventative maintenance experience; must have strong skills in organization and communication and possess great customer service. Valid Georgia driver’s license and insurable driving record is required. 

 

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

The Facilities Plumber must have basic knowledge of general maintenance; must be able to objectively troubleshoot problems and assemble, install, repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating systems, water systems and drainage in accordance to specifications and plumbing codes. Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work well with supervisors, coworkers, the University community, and the public.

 

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Majority of the tasks associated with this position will be performed indoors at multiple campus locations or buildings.  Some duties will require the ability to function with exposure to seasonal weather conditions.  May have exposure to potential hazards.  Ability to stand, bend stop, kneel, reach lift pull, push, and walk for a minimum of three hours. Also, must possess the ability to lift at least 45 lbs. using safe lifting techniques.
