About the Job
NCCPA requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of December 15, 2021, unless the employee qualifies for a legally required exemption. Psychometrician (Entry Level, Mid-Level or Senior Level)
Location: NCCPA is a hybrid work environment with our headquarters located in Johns Creek, Georgia. NCCPA has determined that the telecommuting status of this position is remote which means that employees in remote positions are allowed to primarily work remotely with required travel for mandatory meetings, including to the NCCPA headquarters.

Why Us, Why Now?
As a Psychometrician, you will provide psychometric expertise on NCCPA’s exam related activities and conducts research related to NCCPA’s exam programs.
How Will You Make a Difference? You will…
- Perform routine psychometric analyses on all NCCPA examination programs
- Item bank analyses
- Test form construction
- IRT calibrations
- Scaling and equating projects
- Item analysis and key validation
- Standard settings
- Compile analyses and documentation completed by internal psychometric staff.
- Participate in implementation of standard setting and other psychometric meetings
- Develop operational workflows for routine psychometric work.
- Plans and completes psychometric studies that improve NCCPA’s examination programs.
- Participates in NCCPA’s Summer Psychometric Internship
- Keeps abreast on latest trends and relevant research in certification and licensure testing.
- Supplies data for the NCCA accreditation process by suppling data as required.
- Identifies opportunities to enhance NCCPA’s image through presentations at conferences, collaborations with other organizations, etc.
- Provides informational and training sessions to educate NCCPA’s staff on exam and research activities and initiatives
- Works with the IT and Quality Assurance departments to explain psychometric principles to aid in developing software and conducting quality assurance processes.
- Presents and/or publishes work at relevant psychometrics conferences and publications.
- Represents NCCPA on assessment and psychometric and research issues with internal and external constituents.
- Conducts presentations at psychometric and exam related conferences
- Facilitates standard setting, key validation, and other exam related meetings
- Serves as an active member on cross departmental teams as needed.
Hard Skills You Will Have
- PhD in Psychometrics, Quantitative Psychology or Educational Psychology, Measurement and Evaluation.
- Knowledge of diverse psychometric models including Classical Test Theory, Item Response Theory, Equating models, etc.
- Knowledge of psychometric tools, their capabilities and limitations
- Proficiency in R programming language
- Demonstrated ability to run and evaluate item and test analysis software
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, communicate and apply results of psychometric analyses and studies to technical and non-technical personnel.

Compensation Range: $87,025.00- $100,000.00
