We are seeking to hire a full time Psychology Resident to perform a variety of working level professional clinical and outpatient psychotherapy, psychological assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning functions as needed to provide mental health program services to individuals, groups, and families. Specifically, this position will be shared (funding dependent) between Psychological Assessment Services and the Healthcare Integration Program (approx 20 hrs at each) and will therefore require training in both psychological assessment and integrated healthcare.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Essential Functions: (Performs all or some of the following)
Provides psychological testing and diagnostic services; utilizes various evaluation instruments; performs domestic violence assessments; gathers background information & data; evaluates/assesses mental status; identifies and records emotional functioning and behavioral problems; identifies socialization issues; determines needs related to self help and survival skills; tests clients and determines diagnosis; develops recommendations.
Acts as a subject matter expert in giving testimony in court hearings and investigations; attends juvenile court as needed to represent client needs and provide professional opinions related to adolescent/adult status, competency, custody, etc.; provides consultation to judicial and legal personnel.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an approved college, university or Professional School with a doctorate (PhD or PsyD) degree in psychology, educational psychology or a related field plus certification by DOPL as Psychology Resident
OR
One (1) year of experience in an approved pre-doctoral internship
Additional Requirements: Employment at Wasatch Behavioral Health is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen, motor vehicle record review and criminal background check. After hire you must complete and receive a Criminal Background Clearance (BCI) from Utah State Office of Licensing. Upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment in the position, you must provide an official copy of licensure or certification.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Considerable knowledge of principles, and practices of psychology, including testing, diagnostic evaluation, psychotherapy and behavioral therapy; diagnostic classifications and mental health concepts and fundamentals; various psychological tests and evaluation instruments; normal and abnormal psychology (mental illness and diseases) including their symptoms, treatment and social implications; evaluation and various forms of psychotherapy; client counseling processes, techniques, and methods; group therapy, group dynamics and group development, mental health care facility programs and procedures. Working knowledge of treatment involving psychotropic medications.
Ability to perform under adverse crisis situations; administer, score, interpret and evaluate various psychological data and develop treatment recommendations; establish professional leadership and cooperative relationships with other psychologists and professional staff; communicate verbally and in writing; instruct or supervise a professional staff; develop and maintain effective working relationships with executives, professionals, administrators, and the public
Compensation: $28.94 - $46.99 hourly
1st year Graduate starting pay-$60,195 Annually
2nd year Graduate starting pay-$65,437 Annually
Depending on experience. Additional compensation available for Spanish speakers, after testing proficiency.
