NATURE OF WORK:
Under the general administrative direction of the Intake Department Manager provides services to persons with developmental disabilities; participates as part of an interdisciplinary team for clinical consultations with case managers; supervises interns; directs special projects; provides community education and development of enhanced clinical resources; assists in reviewing and coding the CDER for Psychiatric and medical diagnoses; assists Service Coordinators with forensic issues including writing and reviewing court reports including conservatorship, 1370, diversion and 6500 reports.
EXAMPLES OF WORK:
Provides direct psychometric testing and psychological evaluation of clients or assesses existing psychological evaluations to determine eligibility for regional center services; may instruct center staff and nonpsychologist vendors in psychological theory, diagnostic procedures, and treatment modalities. Performs court-ordered evaluations and may respond to after-hours emergencies. Performs other duties as required. May provide consultation to case managers and clinical staff on the psychological aspects of developmental disabilities; may participate in the interdisciplinary team client evaluation and planning process; may provide consultation to staff, and to clients and their families concerning the client's psychological status, progress, and needs; may participate in in-service training and community education programs to meet educational needs regarding the psychological aspects of developmental disabilities; monitors and reviews programs at behaviorally-oriented facilities upon request.

- In office 4 days a week. After 3 months, if all is going well, we can reduce your time to 2 days a week in the office.
- Work out of our Napa or Santa Rosa office.

MUST HAVES:
- Background with people with developmental disabilities.
- Testing experience such as for (IQ and Ados to Autism).
- Excellent documentation experience
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Visit clients in their homes and day programs, if necessary.
- Attend meetings in and out of the office with punctuality.
- Maintain current workload with documentation accurate and complete.
- Interact tactfully and effectively with those contacted in the course of the work.
- Read, interpret, and follow complex policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
- Communicate effectively in person, on the telephone, and in writing.
- Organize, prioritize, and coordinate work activities.
- Perform work under stressful conditions, as required.
- Use initiative and sound, independent judgment within established guidelines.
- Conduct interviews and interpret the information.
- Understand and utilize sound counseling principles.
- Conduct psychological tests.
- Determine client eligibility.
- Consult with staff regarding client psychological issues.
- Adhere to a reliable work schedule, i.e. punctuality in reporting to work and in using consistent sign-out methods.
- Accurate and timely recording of time sheets and mileage forms.
- Notification to the supervisor of schedule changes, i.e. sick leave, annual leave, and personal holiday use.
- Maintain a high level of personal and professional conduct
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Ph.D. or Doctorate in Psychology, with 2 years experience in testing/diagnostic evaluation of people with developmental disabilities, physical handicaps, or emotional disorders or Ph.D. or Doctorate in Psychology, with 3 years of case management or clinical experience at North Bay Regional Center.
- Preference will be given to psychologists licensed through the Board of Medical Examiners.
- Minimum qualifications may be waived depending on the agency’s need for specialized skills (such as language abilities).
