About the Job
The School Psychologist will play a crucial role in supporting the mental health and educational needs of students. This position involves conducting assessments, providing counseling, collaborating with teachers and parents, and developing intervention strategies to promote student well-being and academic success.
Setting: School
Part Time Employment: 26 Hours a week
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to identify students' needs and develop appropriate interventions.
Provide individual and group counseling to students to address emotional, behavioral, and academic issues.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and make recommendations for support services.
Develop and deliver professional development sessions for staff on topics related to student mental health, behavior management, and effective teaching strategies.
Assist in crisis intervention and provide support during emergencies.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of assessments, interventions, and progress monitoring.
Stay current with best practices in school psychology and participate in ongoing professional development.
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
State certification or licensure as a School Psychologist.
Strong knowledge of psychological assessment tools and techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators, parents, and administrators.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
Desired Qualifications:
Previous experience as a School Psychologist in an educational setting.
Familiarity with special education laws and regulations.
Experience with developing and implementing IEPs and BIPs.
Knowledge of data collection and analysis to support evidence-based practices.
