The hours of operation and/or shift structure in each program are outlined below. These do not represent open positions available for regular coverage.
- 5:00 am - 5:00 pm
- 5:00 pm - 5:00 am
- 5:00 am - 5:00 pm
- 5:00 pm - 5:00 am
- 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (Monday - Friday)
Compensation
- The starting hourly rate for newly-licensed registered nurses is $33.00. The exact starting rate for RNs at DBH is calculated using the starting rate + 1% per year for each year of post-licensure experience up to $44.50 per hour.
- The starting hourly rate for newly-licensed Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) is $26.75 per hour with the same credited service as described above.
PRN Rate
- A nurse hired to work in a PRN capacity will receive a 15% adjustment to the base rate agreed upon at hire for all PRN shifts where he/she is given at least 24 hours of notice before the shift.
- For example, a registered nurse hired at a base hourly rate of $33 would receive a PRN rate of $37.95 per hour.
Emergency Rate
- A PRN nurse called in to cover a shift with less than 24 hours of notice will be compensated at 1 ½ times their PRN rate.
- For example, a registered nurse hired at a base hourly rate of $33 would receive an emergency rate of $56.93 per hour.
- The emergency rate is used as a last resort and requires executive management approval.

Required Experience
Must be licensed as either a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Utah and be in good standing.
The selected candidate must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening. DBH will not hire individuals currently using illegal drugs or abusing alcohol; therefore, making employment at DBH conditional upon successfully passing pre-employment drug screening by providing a valid sample. Candidates who are offered employment are required to report for a drug screen at an Intermountain WorkMed location within 24 hours of being requested to do so by the DBH Human Resources Department.
Davis Behavioral Health works with Federal grants and must comply with the Federal drug laws, including no use of medical marijuana.
DBH utilizes an electronic health record system, so computer literacy is a must for employment.
Preference will be given for applicants who are fluent in Spanish, but this is not a requirement for employment in this opening.
