Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients to determine the appropriate course of care for patients.
- Perform specialized procedures such as gastric lavage and airway management when necessary.
- Develop, implement, and monitor personalized treatment plans. regularly assess and document patient progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans to ensure optimal outcomes and enhanced overall well-being.
- Deliver and supervise effects of interventional treatments as appropriate including TMS, Esketamine (Spravato) and IV Ketamine.
- Prescribe medication and monitor its effectiveness, including psychopharmacology.
- Provide support and education to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals—including psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, psychologists, and therapists—to coordinate comprehensive patient care and optimize treatment effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Ideal Candidate:
- Required: Two (2+) years as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with experience with mental health assessment, diagnosis, triage, managing common psychiatric medication and treatment plans, and managing crisis situations in an outpatient setting.
- Must be a licensed Nurse Practitioner in the State of Georgia.
- Experience working with Athena (EHR) preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Understanding of utilization management principles to optimize patient care
- In-depth knowledge of psychiatric disorders and treatment modalities
- Excellent diagnostic skills and ability to develop effective treatment plans
- Strong interpersonal skills with a desire to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
