Nature and Human Health- UT/Alliance is seeking a part-time intern who will be primarily responsible for administrative tasks including (but not limited to) website development, maintaining databases, running social media, and assisting with logistics related to NHH-UT's Nature and Health Community Fair, taking place this summer. This position will primarily focus on event coordination and implementation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and execution of the Nature and Health Community Fair, including logistical arrangements, vendor coordination, and participant outreach.
- Provide on-site support during the event, ensuring smooth operations and addressing any issues as they arise.
- Assist in the development and distribution of promotional materials for the event, including social media posts, flyers, and emails.
- Support outreach efforts to community partners and stakeholders to encourage participation in the fair.
- Help maintain records of event-related tasks, expenses, and communications.
- Collaborate with the Program Manager and other team members to ensure all aspects of the event align with NHH-UT's mission and goals.
- Assist with post-event evaluations and follow-up activities.
- Assist in updating NHH-UT's website, newsletter, and social media throughout the duration of the internship.
This is a part-time, paid internship opportunity lasting for the duration of the summer semester (May 13th -July 31st). Flexible scheduling options are available to accommodate other responsibilities and obligations.
Minimum Qualifications
This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. We protect our patients, coworkers and community by requiring all patient-sensitive employees to be immunized according to CDC standards and hospital policy. Limited exemptions may be made for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.
Preferences
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and social media platforms.
- Interest in nature, health, and community engagement preferred.
Fluent Spanish speaker is preferred. Event planning and implementation experience preferred. Candidate should be comfortable with professional writing and speaking to a range of constituents, including academics, community partners, the public, and policymakers.
