About the Job
Join a global automotive company as a Prototype Engineer/Designer. We are seeking a highly creative and skilled designer/engineer for a short-term project to contribute to a highly innovative project. We’re looking for candidates who have strong wire harness design, have strong knowledge and understanding of electric motors, motor controllers, and batteries and you will be interfacing with a highly collaborative team, including the vehicle team, and external suppliers.
Responsibilities:
• You will be actively working on a prototype utilizing wire harness design to ensure integration with other vehicle components.
• During the project development, you will contribute to designing and design adjustments for the prototype, actively participating in the prototype’s fabrication phase.
• Actively participate in group meetings and communicate progress and details with various team members and stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with the design team to understand project requirements and deliver creative solutions that align with project goals.
• Diligently work with external suppliers and represent the company during these interactions.
Required Skillset:
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience working directly with prototype design and development, with specific expertise in wire harness design and electric vehicle components.
• Strong familiarity with electric motors, motor controllers, and battery technology.
• Strong hands-on experience with wire harness design.
• Ability to read and understand wire diagrams and potentially assist in the physical fabrication of wire harnesses.
• Proficient in CAD software, preferably CATIA V5, though candidates with experience in similar CAD tools may be considered.
• Effective and high-level engineering technical knowledge to effectively communicate with external suppliers.
• BA Degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields.
• Strong project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet critical project deadlines.
Bonus Skillset:
• Candidates with automotive experience, E-bike industry or micromobility is highly preferred.
Contract Duration: 6 months
Location: Raymond, OH (Onsite candidates highly preferred but remote candidates can be considered.)
