Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and creative research associate with a background in protein chemistry to join the Lead Optimization Team within the BioTDR organization, based in Indianapolis. Our team is responsible for generating, characterizing, and optimizing biotherapeutics from lead generation to lead optimization and preclinical development. Responsibilities
· Expression, purification (AKTA) and characterization (HPLC) of proteins and antibodies using a variety of biochemical and biophysical techniques (Biacore) to identify and address issues pertaining to the physiochemical properties of protein reagents and/or potential biotherapeutics.
Analytical characterization of purified proteins and antibodies.
Characterize protein structure, stability and other critical quality attributes using various biochemical and biophysical approaches.
Characterizing protein: protein interactions.
Working in multifunctional teams and coordinating and presenting experimental data/results at team meetings.
Capable of independently designing experiments, generating data, interpreting results, and documenting work.
Effective oral and written communication skills, self-management, task planning and organization skills.
Basic Requirements
BS with 5 years of experience or MS degree in biochemistry, protein chemistry or related field and 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
Additional Preferences
Experience with biophysical characterization such as Biacore/SPR analysis, light scattering techniques, ITC and protein stability/thermodynamic analysis are highly desirable.
Strong core proficiency in protein biochemistry, knowledge of protein structure-function relationship, and experience in biochemical analyses are required.
Experience with protein engineering; demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional team environment, industry experiences including internship preferred.
Generation of protein/antibody conjugates (ADCs).
