Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Protective Force (PF) Special Response Team (SRT) Team Lead to work on our Safeguards and Security team. Our team works a 4x12 schedule located out of our sitewide facilities. You would report to the SRT Commander, SRT Major and Shift Captain.
Responsibilities Include:
- Responsible for command, control and reporting of all security emergency situations on the INL and notifications for events specified in DOE 470 series orders.
- Oversee SRT Lieutenants and SRT PF personnel to ensure Post and Patrol responsibilities are met.
- Monitor training as outlined in the Annual Training Plan (ATP); conduct monthly Alarm Response Assessment Performance Tests (ARAPTs) and Limited Scope Performance Tests (LSPTs)
- Plan and assist with Live Fire range training. Must have full understanding and be able to direct an effective resolution of adversary actions as established in the 2016 Design Basis Threat (DBT) and 2008 Graded Security Protection Policy (GSP) for DOE programs and facilities using force options, team techniques for interdiction, interruption, neutralization and recapture/recovery operations at multiple areas across the INL.
- Be one of the senior PF Operations Department representative at the Site Facilities during all work hours and reports to the SRT Commander, SRT Major and Shift Captain.
- Be the Officer in Tactical Command (OTC) of security operations until relieved by higher authority.
- Responsible for the PPA, PA and MAA operations activities on daily basis ensuring security requirements and workforce are being used in protection strategies.
- Ensure SRT PF personnel maintain high levels of training that allow them to respond, assess threat, deny access and neutralize threat at site facilities.
- Responsible to mentor behavior problems and provide crew members counseling to correct identified problems and administer discipline to crew members.
- Work with Area Managers and Area Senior Lieutenants daily, ensuring facility operations and security meet BEA Goals for site facilities and work being completed within site facilities does not affect security posture.
- Monitor the performance and oversee Lieutenants and SRT personnel assigned to the team: identify training needs that increases job skills that enhance job performance.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field OR Associates Degree in related field and two years' experience in Protective Force and/or Military/Law enforcement OR High School diploma or equivalent in related field and six years' experience in Protective Force and/or Military/Law enforcement
- Relevant experience includes: SRT at another DOE or DOD facility, Special Operations experience in the military, or similar experience in law enforcement
- Supervisor and/or Lead experience
- NTC TRF 200 Certification
- Meet 10 CFR 1046 physical fitness standards
- NTC Basic Instructor Training Certification
- NTC Basic firearms instructor Certification
- NTC Advanced firearms instructor Certification

Must maintain DOE Q clearance and the DOE Human Reliability Program (HRP) as applicable. Areas that will be monitored include:
- Illegal drug use
- Legal (prescription) drug abuse
- Alcohol abuse
- Financial stability and responsibility
- Psychological stability.
Job Information:
- The pay range for this position is $92,311 - $139,151. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.

- TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
