Jobsite Formwork is based in Indianapolis, IN. We have been serving our customers in the concrete industry for 30 years. We design, deliver, and service innovative concrete forming & shoring systems from coast to coast. We are looking for an experienced Formwork Designer to join our busy team of professional designers and engineers.
Job Summary
The Formwork Design Engineer will work with Jobsite Formwork division sales, pre-construction, and engineering teams in cooperation with Jobsite Formwork customers to gain clear understanding of project requirements that represents the proper use of forming and shoring solutions for concrete construction projects from start to completion.
- Create engineered formwork placement drawings for Formwork customers, indicating proper layout and installation of various forming and shoring systems for concrete construction projects.
- Produce specific material lists from engineered drawings for Operations staff to prepare for shipment to jobsites.
- Work closely with Operations team to utilize available inventory, make product substitutions to utilize owned fleet, as necessary.
- Provide technical assistance with forming and shoring systems to external customers as well as Jobsite Formwork staff as required.
- Communicate with customers, both internal and external, as required to effectively complete projects.
- Other projects as assigned by the Engineering Director.
General Responsibilities:
- Develop thorough understanding of product offerings of Formwork division.
- Creation and maintenance of project files.
- Interface with all departments daily to ensure all customer needs are met.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask on multiple projects in a dynamic environment while meeting tight deadlines.
- Ability to extract all critical information from architectural/structural drawings and transfer to software for detailing.
- Must communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and all levels of the organization.
Working Conditions:
The work is performed within a typical office environment, can be done remotely. The working environment in the office can be distracting due to moderate noise levels. There may be prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs with assistance when needed.
Performance Requirements:
The successful candidate will be confident, organized and detail oriented. Must have expert level technical skills and experience using a variety of software including Bluebeam, Revit, and AutoCAD. Must be self-motivated, able to juggle multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines & extremely organized.
Education: HS Diploma required. BS degree in Civil or Mechanical Technology or Engineering is preferred with experience.
Experience: 2-5 years in concrete forming and shoring design applications role.
Certificate/License: Must have a valid driver’s license.
Salary commensurate with direct experience in forming & shoring industry.
