SUMMARY
The Property Maintenance Associate acts as a “handyperson” within the North Coast Community Homes network of managed properties. This role will be assigned various weekly tasks in support of the assigned Property Managers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform simple maintenance and light repairs
- Clean facilities by sweeping, mopping, and wiping down fixtures
- Paint and patch holes and gaps
- Undertake light installation of flooring and cabinetry
- Perform Basic repair equipment or appliances
- Assist Property Managers with electrical, plumbing, or other more complex repairs
- Undertake duties as assigned in emergencies
- Identify and report the need for major repairs within the home or unit
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications

Must have basic proficiency in the use of computers and portable devices. Must be able to work independently.
Experience
Three years of related experience in basic trades, residential/commercial property maintenance, or remodeling activities.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of introductory algebra and geometry.
Communication Skills
Ability to work with and among persons with disabilities, cooperate and communicate with co-workers, tenants, and the general public.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to diagnose and solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable at NCCH’s current rate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Working Conditions
General residential maintenance environment. Some evening and weekend work may be required—travel required within Ohio’s northeast counties.
