Willow Bridge is currently hiring for an onsite Property Maintenance Intern to participate in the daily operations of the regional maintenance team. This is a paid, full-time 9-week rotational program from June 2nd - July 31st. It will cover property upkeep, groundskeeping, apartment turns, and maintenance processes. You will be provided with training programs through e-learning and shadowing. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience of the daily maintenance operations and troubleshooting in the property management industry.
Responsibilities:
The Property Maintenance Intern will be responsible for assisting the Regional Maintenance Director over a portfolio of Willow Bridge Property Company communities. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented with an eagerness to learn.
- Assist with property inspections by shadowing routine inspection procedures to identify maintenance needs and report findings to the maintenance team
- Learn routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, landscaping, and general repairs
- Help manage work orders from residents and learn how to prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion
- Properly document all repairs and maintenance requests
- Assist with coordinating external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services
- Support the Regional Maintenance Director with maintenance records related to maintenance costs, activities, and project timelines
- Learn about safety protocols, building codes, and company policies
- Check assigned email regularly
- Check in with assigned manager and internship program directors regularly to report progress, questions, and any concerns that may arise
- Interest or desire to work in property maintenance, facilities management, or construction
- Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to collaborate with team members and use available resources to effectively complete tasks
- Able to work in-person at a Willow Bridge Community
- Able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs and climb stairs on a regular basis
- Will be a rising Junior or Senior for a degree/certification in a Property Management, Facilities Management, Construction, or Maintenance program at the time of the first day of the program
