A growing development company is hiring a Property Controller. If you are looking for an exciting, fast paced environment with a variety of projects in various stages creating a variety of work demands, this is the position for you. You will be an integral part of an awesome team!
Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible as chief accountant for multiple properties both under construction and in operation.
- Coordinate with developers, JV partners and property management companies to provide financial data in a variety of reporting formats.
- Supervise staff and assist other functional areas.
- Supervise loan draw accounting.
- Prepare cost allocations to capitalize newly constructed projects.
- Coordinate new project setup for accounting and loan draw requisitions.
- Coordinate financial statement audits where applicable.
- Assist in compiling data for tax reporting.
- Maintain company files and data retention for paperless operation.
- Maintain Quickbooks operation on cloud as administrator.
Qualifications:
- Minimum five to seven years’ experience in multiple entity accounting environment. CPA preferred.
- Real estate construction, development and/or property management experience is a plus.
- Extensive Quickbooks experience is required. Experience with Yardi/MRI/BNY is a plus.
- Computer skills and comfort working in a paperless environment.
- Excellent communication skills working in a geographically diverse company.
The position requires related experience working in external relationship management
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and flexibility
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
Self-driven individual, ability to work with minimal direction
